Lawrence J. LaShomb, Jr., Elected ECOA Board Chairman; Anne Nobles Elected ECOA Board Vice-Chair

 

WALTHAM, MASS. – Lawrence J. LaShomb, Jr., has been elected chairman and Anne Nobles has been elected vice-chairperson of the Ethics and Compliance Officer Association (ECOA) Board of Directors. LaShomb and Nobles will commence their two-year terms on July 1, 2012.

LaShomb assumes the position of chair from Andrea Bonime-Blanc, Esq., senior vice president, global corporate responsibility and risk management, Verint Systems, Inc. Ms. Bonime-Blanc has served as chair at ECOA since July 1, 2010. During her tenure, the ECOA undertook a major long term strategic rethink, expanded its technology platform and educational offerings, deepened its external and governmental affairs and continued to significantly grow its international activities. The directors and staff of the ECOA thank Ms. Bonime-Blanc for her extraordinary service.

LaShomb is a resident of Binghamton, New York. He serves as compliance officer for Iberdrola USA, an energy services and delivery company in upstate New York and New England and a subsidiary of global energy leader IBERDROLA, S.A. Larry joined NYSEG, a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, in 1985, and has served in its audit and accounting departments until 1994 when he was given the responsibility for forming NYSEG’s Ethics and Compliance Program, which was adopted by Iberdrola USA when it acquired NYSEG in 2009, and for directing the day-to-day operation of the Compliance Program. At the ECOA, LaShomb has been a Sponsoring Partner member since 1995, served as vice chair of the board since August 2011, formerly chaired its Audit & Finance Committee from 2004 until 2011 and was co-founder and former chairman of the ECOA’s Utilities Industry Group. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and law from Clarkson University.

Anne Nobles is a resident of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is chief ethics and compliance officer and senior vice president of enterprise risk management for Eli Lilly and Company, where she also serves as a member of the executive committee. She joined Lilly in 1990 and previously served as vice president of compliance and enterprise risk management, chief compliance officer, and vice president of corporate affairs. Prior to joining Lilly, she was an attorney at the law firm of Bose, McKinney and Evans, LLP. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Harvard University and juris doctor degree from Georgetown University.
