The Latest Research from Academia on Ethical Decision-Making Jerry Goodstein, Professor, Department of Management and Operations, Washington State University In this experiential session designed to apply recent research to practical situations, participants will be introduced to the work of two leading professors in the field of business ethics. Their research into the concepts of “seeing no evil” and “restorative justice” will teach participants how unethical behavior often occurs without the conscious awareness of the actor, and how everyday situations can lead employees to cross the ethical line. Further interactive discussion will focus on how organizations can respond to wrongdoings in ways that benefit both the individual and the organization once the ethical line has been crossed. Participants will be introduced to the core principles of restorative justice and examine ways to apply this criminal justice concept in organizational settings. We look forward to an interactive sharing of participant insights and experiences as we strive to identify alternatives for redressing harms and repairing damaged relationships in the aftermath of unethical behavior.
