Optimizing Corporate Ethics and Compliance Programs in the Federal Government

Emil Moschella, Attorney-at-Law
Michael Korwin, Deputy Ethics Counselor, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)

The notion that “public service is a public trust” is the foundation for all government employee standards of ethical conduct. How this is translated into practice in U.S. federal government agencies varies. This session will describe how a variety of corporate ethics and compliance methodologies have been integrated into government business processes.

Participants in this session will learn how the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation infuses government-wide ethics requirements across all its programs. In addition, participants will learn how the FBI, acknowledging that corporate compliance programs have become a mainstay of modern corporate governance, has developed an ethics and compliance program uniquely suited to their needs and risks.
